SAHAJIYA FOUNDATION

Sahajiya also works as a Foundation which is working for the promotion and exploration of Bengali Folk Music into the
World Music arena. Sahajiya Foundation has created an interactive platform for the development of folk and world music,
which includes organizing events, shows and festivals, workshops and seminars, cultural, musical collaboration and
exchange programs. Our work also successfully marks the multifaceted line of actions which includes a thorough research
work on primitive folk songs of Bengal, documentation, revival of dying art, voluntarily organizing pension grant to
support the veteran aged folk artists and their family in indigent circumstances. In addition to such varied activities, we
made some documentary films on the folk art of Bengal. Sahajiya Foundation  has also been collecting rare folk
instruments, crafts, books, manuscripts and lyrics to create a library and museum for archiving the folk heritage of Bengal.
